How long have you been in the toy business?
Since 1958. I’ve worked here for 35 years and have owned Ted’s since 2001.
Why did you decide to work in the toy industry?
Who wouldn’t want to work at a hobby shop?!
What are some challenges you’ve faced?
The biggest challenge has been staffing. It’s difficult keeping good people in retail.
What do you think about the future of retail?
The future of retail is, unfortunately, online.
What is your opinion of Amazon and its role in the toy industry?
Amazon is here to stay. The toy industry will eventually move to sell directly online either
through channels like Amazon or their own sites.
